Some vaccines require two doses. Is there a grace period for scheduling the second vaccine dose?

The first and second doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine should be administered 21 days apart. The first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine should be administered 28 days apart.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) strongly urges patients to schedule their second dose as close to the recommended 21-day or 28-day interval as possible. However, if it is not possible to stick to those guidelines, second doses can be administered up to 42 days after the first dose.
